Starting October 20, 2026, we’re transitioning to the new and improved version of Teachery.

For existing users, you can migrate at your own pace. For new users, you'll start fresh in Teachery 4.0.

We don’t take that lightly (we have our own courses still active on Teachery). You can use both versions of Teachery during the transition and we're giving you until March 31, 2027 to migrate everything over.

Teachery 4.0 Migration Steps

Your courses keep running in current Teachery until you migrate.

1. Copy it over

Log in to Teachery 4.0, choose a course or product, and click Copy. You’ll get an unpublished copy to work on. Nothing changes for your students yet.

2. Edit the new copy

Open your copy and check for anything that needs attention. Any changes you make to the 4.0 copy stay on 4.0 (same with 3.0; changes stay on 3.0).

3. Make the move

When you're ready for the final step, you'll click a button to move all your students and URLs from 3.0 to 4.0. This step is the final part of the migration.

Using a custom domain?

You’ll need to update its DNS record when you move to 4.0. Your custom domain will still work during the migration process, but we encourage you to update the DNS record asap.

Make all your tweaks and edits

Once you have a copy in 4.0, you can edit and change it all you like! Your existing customers won't see any changes made in the copied version until you make the final move.

Have recurring payments?

No need to worry, we're handling the migration of these as well when you move a Course or Product that has customers with recurring payments.

Custom CSS does not carry over

We’ve made a big upgrade to how courses are built and customized, so your existing custom CSS won’t come over to 4.0. You can still add new custom CSS (but with our new Design tools you may not need it!)

Moving is permanent

Once you click the final Move button, your migration can’t be undone. Give everything a final look and make sure you’re ready before you make the move.

If you don't migrate by March 2027?

We will automatically migrate all your courses, products, hubs, etc from 3.0 to 4.0 on your behalf. You will not be able to access 3.0 after March 31, 2027.

Taking payments via Stripe

Teachery 4.0 is still using Stripe for all your payment processing

We know this isn’t awesome news…

We've used Stripe since 2013 and they are one of the most secure and comprehensive payment processors on the market.

Support for PayPal at checkout is coming by the end of the year. For now, your checkout pages can accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, and many other payment services.

Please know that we spent months and countless hours of effort trying to avoid this outcome 😩. Due to the complexities of payment processing and ensuring the best possible experience for you and your customers, creating a new Stripe account within your Teachery 4.0 account is mandatory and the only option.

We’re sorry for the extra step, and we wish it weren’t necessary. The good news: setting up a new Stripe account via Teachery 4.0’s integrations page will only take a few minutes.

Still selling in 3.0?

Have a launch or two and want to continue to do it on Teachery 3.0, no problem! Move to 4.0 at your own pace (but before March 31, 2027 😉).

Existing Teachery customer?

There's no action you need to take! We've spent countless hours making sure your existing Stripe connection could stay intact in Teachery 4.0. As you migrate Courses, Products, and Hubs, your customer data will come through.

New Teachery customer?

Past revenue is in your old Stripe account

You'll create a brand new Stripe account through the Teachery Integrations page. Your account setup will only take a few minutes and you'll be selling in no time!

What will your customers see?

Staying on Teachery 3.0 for now?

If you haven’t migrated yet, you can keep selling in 3.0 and your customers can keep accessing their purchases there until March 31, 2027.

After January 31, 2027, we will no longer monitor support requests on 3.0 so we can focus solely on 4.0.

Nothing will change on October 20th. Once you migrate a course or product to 4.0, your customers will login via the exact same URL. It will feel seamless!

Using Teachery’s Learn page?

If some courses are still in 3.0 and others are in 4.0, customers may need to log in to each Teachery Learn page (one for 3.0 and one for 4.0) separately to find everything.

Moving all your courses and products over to 4.0 sooner keeps things simpler for your customers.

A few things we’re still finishing

Teachery 4.0 is 97% feature complete, but we’re still putting the finishing touches on a few features. Here’s what’s coming, along with our current target dates.

Affiliate payouts

You can already create affiliates and collect commissions in 4.0. We’re finishing the system to allow you to pay out your affiliates on your own.

Automations with your favorite tools are on the way. We're adding more triggers and more automation abilities with our new tagging feature too.

Your email integrations

MailerLite, Mailchimp, Kit, and Flodesk are coming to 4.0 to match what we currently have. Future email providers will be taken into consideration in 2027.

PayPal is absolutely still planned for the end of the year. You'll be able to toggle it on and offer PayPal on your Checkout Pages in 4.0.

Move your courses. Your students come too.

Existing users can log in to Teachery 3.0 and 4.0 during the transition. As you migrate each course or product to 4.0, its students are migrated along with it.

Your students keep using the same URLs

Students can still access what they’ve purchased through the same URLs. If you're still using 3.0, nothing changes. When you migrate a Course or Product to 4.0, the same URLs will work.

Custom domains need a quick DNS update

Every custom domain in a Course, Product, or Hub will need a new DNS record for Teachery 4.0. We keep your custom domain working during the migration process and until you update the one DNS record per domain.

Teachery 3.0 retires on March 31, 2027

Our current plan is to keep Teachery 3.0 available to existing users until March 31, 2027. We will stop offering customer support on 3.0 on January 31, 2027 so we can shift all energy and focus on 4.0. If you do not migrate before March 31, we will automatically migrate your account.
